Barbizon 63
Barbizon 63
OVERVIEW
The very handsome, 23-story building, one of the greatest pre-war structures on the Upper East Side east of Park Avenue, started as a women-only residence "club" and was designed by Murgatroyd & Ogden in 1927. From the distinctive Romanesque and Moorish details to sky terraces with grand historic arches reminiscent of European castles, Barbizon/63 is one of New York City's architectural treasures.
